Responsible For
Technical Sourcing & Procurement

  • Source engineering, manufacturing, refurbishment, maintenance, and operational materials and services.
  • Obtain quotations from approved suppliers.
  • Evaluate supplier proposals against technical, quality, commercial, and delivery requirements.
  • Ensure purchased items comply with specifications and operational requirements.
  • Identify alternative sources of supply where necessary.
  • Support strategic sourcing initiatives.

Purchase Order Management

  • Create and issue purchase orders in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Verify pricing, specifications, quantities, and delivery requirements before issuing purchase orders.
  • Ensure purchase orders accurately reflect operational requirements.
  • Monitor purchase order status and progress.
  • Expedite urgent procurement requirements where necessary.

Supplier Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance regarding quality, delivery, service, and responsiveness.
  • Resolve supplier-related issues and discrepancies.
  • Participate in supplier performance reviews where required.
  • Assist with supplier development initiatives.

Technical Evaluation & Specification Compliance

  • Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, bills of materials, and material requirements.
  • Verify technical suitability of products prior to procurement.
  • Consult with Engineering and Production regarding technical requirements.
  • Ensure suppliers understand technical specifications and quality requirements.
  • Assist in resolving technical procurement challenges.

Inventory & Supply Support

  • Monitor inventory levels and replenishment requirements.
  • Procure stock items in accordance with inventory planning requirements.
  • Support critical stock management initiatives.
  • Assist with identifying long lead-time procurement risks.
  • Coordinate procurement activities to support operational continuity.

. Supplier Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure suppliers comply with quality requirements.
  • Support supplier quality investigations where required.
  • Assist with supplier corrective actions.
  • Monitor supplier quality performance.
  • Coordinate with Quality regarding supplier non-conformances.

Procurement Administration & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate procurement records and supplier information.
  • Ensure procurement documentation is complete and auditable.
  • Maintain approved supplier information.
  • Manage procurement filing and document control requirements.
  • Support procurement audits and compliance reviews.

Expediting & Delivery Management

  • Follow up on outstanding purchase orders.
  • Monitor supplier delivery commitments.
  • Expedite critical materials and services.
  • Communicate delivery risks to stakeholders.
  • Resolve supply delays affecting operations.

Educational Requirements
Qualifications • Grade 12 (Matric). • Diploma or Certificate in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field. Experience • 3–5 years’ experience in procurement or technical buying. • Experience within manufacturing, engineering, mining, industrial, or refurbishment environments. • Experience sourcing technical and engineering products
