Qualified Auto Electrician – Construction Equipment (Red Seal & AC) Jobs in Johannesburg South at Pre Auto Electric
We are seeking a trade-tested and reliable Auto Electrician with strong experience in construction equipment and automotive air conditioning. The successful candidate will diagnose, fault-find, repair, and service electrical and HVAC systems on earthmoving and construction machinery. You must be able to work independently.
Minimum Requirements (Non-Negotiable):
- Red Seal / Section 13 Auto Electrical Trade Test Certificate.
- Proven experience working on construction / earthmoving equipment (e.g., excavators, TLBs, loaders, dozers).
- Proven experience working on automotive/machinery air conditioning systems.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of post-trade experience.
- Valid Code 8 or Code 10 Driver’s License.
- Clear criminal record.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, fault-find, and repair complex electrical systems on construction equipment and machinery.
- Service, repair, and regas air conditioning and climate control systems on heavy machinery.
- Read and interpret heavy equipment electrical wiring diagrams and hydraulic/HVAC schematics.
- Utilize diagnostic scanning tools to identify electrical, engine, and air conditioning faults.
- Conduct routine electrical maintenance and component installations on-site or in the workshop.
- Adhere strictly to site safety, health, and environmental regulations.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability on heavy construction machinery.
- Excellent air conditioning repair and leak detection skills.
Pay: R20 000,00 – R25 000,00 per month
