Process Controller

This role is based at our Evander branch, reporting directly to the Production Manager.

1. Operating various high temperature / pressure equipment to SOP / instruction and operating envelope, includes effluent plant and blending products
2. Understands limits of authority to deviate from operating envelopes
3. Makes optimisation suggestions to superior by utilising his chemical engineering skills
4. Maintains good housekeeping practices
5. Completes log sheets: plant and inspection
6. Interprets trend changes that require superior notification
7. Manages tank levels: Feed / product / blends
8. Performs and checks chemical dosing: Boiler, effluent, MVF, cooling towers
9. Adheres to the Environmental, Health and Safety policies and procedures
10. Tank dips, sampling, month end stock take
11. Trained and able to operate forklift
12. Loading and off-loading of trucks: Weighbridge operation
13. VOC and Boiler monitoring
14. Plant isolations for maintenance
15. Performs, records, and returns operational and HSE planned maintenance checks generated by the CMMS system
16. Report’s abnormalities and failures of plant equipment
17. Participates in MOC, RCA, lean and RCM exercises when required
18. Performs operational efficiency projects of a chemical engineering and process flow nature

Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum: Diploma (Chemical Engineering) Preferable: B.Tech. (Chemical Engineering) or studying towards

Minimum: 6 months post-graduation experience in a manufacturing environment; Pref 12 months chemical processing plant experience
