Position Overview
Energi Solutions at Africa is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Finance Graduate to join our Finance Department. This role offers practical exposure to core finance functions, with a strong emphasis on Project Accounting, cost control, financial reporting, and business performance analysis.
The successful candidate will work closely with both the Finance and Operations teams, supporting the financial management of projects from initiation through completion. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring finance professional to develop expertise in project-based financial management within a growing industrial business.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Accounting (Primary Focus)
- Monitor project budgets, costs, and expenditure throughout the project lifecycle.
- Track project performance against approved budgets and financial targets.
- Prepare project cost reports, financial summaries, and variance analyses.
- Assist with revenue recognition in accordance with contractual milestones and project progress.
- Ensure accurate project coding, cost allocation, and expense capturing within the ERP system.
- Work closely with Project Managers to identify financial risks, cost overruns, and improvement opportunities.
- Support project forecasting and profitability analysis.
- Assist in maintaining financial visibility across active projects to support informed decision-making.
Financial Reporting & Accounting
- Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts.
- Process journals, accruals, and intercompany transactions.
- Perform general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities.
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Support annual budgeting processes.
- Assist with monthly and quarterly forecasting updates.
- Compile financial data and contribute to performance analysis and reporting.
Compliance & Governance
- Assist with internal and external audit preparation.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and audit-ready financial documentation.
- Support compliance with applicable tax and regulatory requirements.
Operational Finance Support
- Assist with accounts payable and receivable processes when required.
- Support cash flow monitoring and reporting activities.
- Perform supplier reconciliations and assist with payment preparation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function.
General Support
- Provide financial analysis and ad hoc reporting support to management.
- Assist with strategic finance initiatives and special projects.
- Support cross-functional teams with financial data and insights.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as reasonably assigned by the Finance Manager.
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma in Accounting.
- Strong academic record.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Foundational understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational ability.
