We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Weighbridge Clerk to manage the accurate weighing of incoming and outgoing vehicles and their loads. This role is key to ensuring precise data capture, excellent customer service, and full compliance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating the weighbridge system, maintaining accurate records, assisting drivers, and supporting day-to-day administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities Weighing Operations
- Operate the weighbridge system to accurately weigh vehicles and loads
- Verify incoming and outgoing weights and ensure correct documentation
- Monitor weighbridge equipment and report any faults or issues promptly
Record-Keeping & Data Entry
- Enter weight data into computer systems accurately
- Generate weighbridge tickets, reports, and related documentation
- Maintain up-to-date and compliant transaction records
Customer Service
- Greet drivers and provide clear instructions on the weighing process
- Respond to queries in a professional and courteous manner
- Ensure efficient vehicle processing to minimise waiting times
Compliance & Safety
- Follow all health, safety, environmental, and company regulations
- Report discrepancies, incidents, or safety concerns to management
Administrative Duties
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required
- Assist with reconciliation of weighbridge data and transactions
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent (additional training in weighbridge operations is an advantage)
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not essential
- Basic understanding of weighbridge systems and data entry
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Competent in using computers and standard office software
Working Conditions
- Role may involve working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Shift work may be required, including evenings and weekends
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
