Job Overview
Niche Water is seeking a reliable, hands-on Water Processing & Packaging Technician to support daily operations at our purification and bottling facility.
This role involves water treatment, bottling, packaging, hygiene control, and occasional deliveries. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, physically fit, and committed to maintaining high-quality and hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities Water Processing
- Operate and monitor water purification systems (RO, filtration, ozonation)
- Perform daily system checks (pressure, TDS levels, flow rates)
- Ensure consistent water quality meets company and regulatory standards
- Conduct routine cleaning and sanitation of tanks, pipes, and equipment
Bottling & Packaging
- Wash, sanitize, and prepare bottles (500ml, 330ml, 5L, 10L, 20L, 25L Water dispenser)
- Fill, cap, and seal bottles according to SOPs
- Label and package products for distribution
- Maintain cleanliness in the bottling area (food-grade hygiene compliance)
Quality & Compliance
- Follow hygiene protocols (protective clothing, handwashing, contamination prevention)
- Assist with internal quality checks and record-keeping
- Support compliance with local Environmental Health requirements
Delivery Support
- Load and offload water bottles safely
- Assist with deliveries to customers (offices, gyms, households)
- Drive company vehicle when required
General Duties
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Report equipment faults or safety issues
- Assist team members with daily operational tasks
Minimum Requirements
- Valid South African Driver’s License (Code B) – essential
- Minimum Grade 10 / Matric preferred
- Physically fit (ability to lift 20L water bottles regularly)
- Basic mechanical or technical understanding (advantageous)
- Ability to follow instructions and SOPs accurately
- Good communication skills and reliability
Preferred Experience
- Experience in:
- Bottled water plants / beverage production
- Food processing or packaging environments
- Basic plumbing or machine operation
- Knowledge of hygiene standards (HACCP principles – advantageous)
