Veterinarian (Big Cat Sanctuary) Jobs in Bethlehem at CHC CONSULTING PTY LTD
This is an amazing opportunity for a Qualified Vet to work in a Wildlife Sanctuary mainly with Big Cats. Please only apply if you are a qualified Veterinarian
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the health and well-being of all the sanctuaries animals, mainly big cats
- Upkeeping of medical records
- Observational assessments of all animals and adjustments to their medication and care, depending on the individual’s needs, including husbandry aspects such as nutritional and environmental needs
- Contributing to general husbandry as part of the animal management team
- Contributing to preventative medicine protocols in a captive welfare setting
- Participating in and supporting the safe transfer of animals to the sanctuary
- Assisting in managing free roaming game
Qualifications and Experience:
- Min 3 years experience in small or mixed animal practice, preferably including animal welfare and / or wildlife settings
- Fully qualified veterinarian (must be registered with the South African Veterinary Council or eligible to do so)
- Fluent in English
- Good Microsoft and record keeping knowledge
- Willing to relocate to Bethlehem Free State
- Willing to work extended hours and weekends and being on standby
- Drivers Licence
- Passion for animal welfare
Pay: R40 000,00 – R50 000,00 per month
