We are looking for a driven, experienced, and highly operational Used Vehicle Sales Manager to lead and grow our used vehicle department within a fast-paced franchised dealership environment.
This is a leadership role suited to someone who understands used vehicle retail at a high level, can manage a sales team effectively, controls stock tightly, and knows how to consistently drive profitability, volume, and performance.
The successful candidate must be energetic, disciplined, competitive, and capable of leading from the front.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the daily operations of the used vehicle department
- Leading, motivating, and developing the sales team
- Driving used vehicle sales volume and profitability
- Stock sourcing, buying, and pricing
- Managing stock ageing and stock turn
- Ensuring vehicles are prepared and displayed to a high standard
- Monitoring leads, pipeline activity, and follow-up processes
- Working closely with F&I and admin departments to maximise conversions and efficiency
- Managing trade-ins and appraisals accurately
- Ensuring compliance with dealership policies and processes
- Daily reporting and performance management
- Building a strong sales culture and maintaining team accountability
- Assisting with marketing initiatives and online stock presentation
- Managing customer escalations professionally when required
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Used Vehicle Sales Manager
- Franchised dealership experience is essential
- Strong understanding of used vehicle buying and pricing
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and profitability
- Strong leadership and team management ability
- Excellent closing and negotiation skills
- Strong understanding of finance and deal structuring
- Computer literate with dealership systems experience
- Valid driver’s licence
- Ability to work under pressure in a target-driven environment
