Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Used Recon Tech / Paint specialist to join our dynamic team at DFW Collision Center in Arlington, TX. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and restoring used vehicles to ensure they meet quality standards. Your expertise will help maintain the highest level of vehicle presentation and safety, contributing directly to customer satisfaction and dealership success. Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections of used vehicles to identify necessary repairs, including auto body work, paint touch-ups, and mechanical issues
- Perform auto body repairs such as dent removal, panel replacement, and welding to restore vehicle integrity
- Apply auto paint using airless spray guns or other techniques to achieve a flawless finish that matches original specifications
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and buffing equipment to prepare vehicles for final detailing and presentation
- Replace or repair auto glass as needed, ensuring proper installation and safety standards are met
- Assist with vehicle maintenance tasks including fluid checks, light mechanical repairs, and heavy lifting when required
- Document repair processes accurately for auto estimating purposes and ensure all work complies with safety regulations
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a dealership or auto body repair environment is highly preferred
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment such as airless paint sprayers and buffing machines
- Experience in auto painting, detailing, auto restoration
- Ability to lift heavy parts or equipment safely and perform physically demanding tasks consistently
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on quality workmanship and attention to detail
- Basic understanding of auto estimating software or processes is advantageous
- Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong computer & communication skills
- Professional appearance and work ethic
- Self-motivated, goal oriented, and ability to work within a fast paced environment
- Current, valid driver’s license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
