Are you an experienced Maintenance Team Leader looking for your next big opportunity? Race Coast Western Cape is searching for a dynamic and resourceful professional to join our rapidly growing team. This role involves coordination a team of maintenance technicians, coordinating maintenance schedules, coordinating repairs, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. This role is a supportive function to the Supervisor (Maintenance) and requires the coordination of various maintenance teams and resources. In collaboration with the Supervisor (Maintenance), the Maintenance Team Leader will ensure that the maintenance section of the Master Maintenance Plan is executed.

What You’ll Do

  • Equipment and Inventory Management: Ensure that all tools and maintenance equipment is properly maintained and available for use.
  • Inspections: Conduct inspections and compile an ongoing preventative maintenance check list.
  • Maintenance Operations: Oversee the routine maintenance, repair, and installation of facility systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems. Implement preventive maintenance programs to reduce equipment downtime and extend the life of facility assets. Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions, coordinating with external contractors when specialised repairs are required.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with health and safety regulations, company policies and that environmental regulations. Conduct regular safety inspections of equipment and work areas.
  • Administrative Duties: Implement maintenance schedules, monitor staff attendance and supply usage. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections and repairs.
  • Training: Provide training to staff on the proper use of cleaning equipment and safety procedures.
  • Team Coordination: Coordinate the activities of the maintenance teams.
  • People Development: Monitor the performance of the maintenance team, providing guidance and feedback as needed. Monitor attendance, absenteeism and leave for employees.
  • General: Ensure that our Race Coast brand is protected and represented professionally at all times. Drive changes in all company policies and procedures. Communicate to sites the importance of upholding the company image at all times.
  • Communication: Respond to management request timeously and action accordingly, effectively communicate and filter company information to staff.
  • Innovation and Problem-Solving: An inquisitive mind to tackle challenges and improve our systems.
  • Any other such duties that might be required.

What You’ll Need

· A professional with at least one (1) years’ experience as a Maintenance Team Leader (required).

· Must have carpentry, joinery and roofing experience.

· Matric/ Grade 12/ Equivalent (ideal).

· Valid code 8 or 10 driver’s license (ideal).

· Computer literacy (Microsoft Office suite).

· Must be physically fit and able (required).

· Be available to work flexible hours including weekends, Sundays, Public Holidays and day and night racing.

· A clear criminal record.
