Minimum Requirements

  • 3-year commercial or information technology degree
  • Project management life cycle knowledge
  • 3 – 5 years relevant experience within a Retail operations environment
  • Systems development life cycle experience
  • Advanced Excel (with experience using graphs, pivots etc.)
  • 3 or more years’ proven experience in the field of Business Intelligence, preferably in a retail environment.
  • Ability to combine and analyse data from various sources and produce visual and/or exception based output that portrays answers to business questions
  • Ability to draw insights from data analytics, summarize findings and make recommendations for improvement
  • The ability to turn data and/or insights into effective BI solutions
  • Ability to work with large volumes of data
  • Data Visualization tools experience preferable (i.e.,Tableau/ Qlikview)


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with the relevant stakeholders to understand the requirements, facilitate solution exploration, develop the Business Requirement Specification(s) and obtain consensus
  • Develop reporting solutions by using relevant tools and through an interactive process develop and refine reports
  • Proactively identify and communicate impacts, risks and issues
  • Provide input into any system, people and process specifications
  • Ensure the integrity of the solution in accordance with the business requirements
  • Plan, drive and execute functional testing and business sign-off
  • Review training documentation and participate in project training
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve and streamline business processes
  • Ensure Supply Chain and Logistics Business Information needs are catered for by creating dynamic reports and data visualizations that provide insights to the Supply Chain and Logistics user community
  • Engage with business and IT stakeholders to focus on continuous improvement of information in terms of relevance, quality and speed of delivery
  • Timeous and accurate production of Supply Chain and Logistics reports which includes analysis, trends and interpretation
  • Service ad-hoc requests for information within the required timeframe and specification, with a focus on translating ad-hoc solutions into effective, sustainable BI solutions that service a broader need
  • Support the business with report and data queries and manage end-to-end resolution of issues by engaging with all stakeholders
  • Ability to work on own, as well as a good team-member
