JOB SUMMARY
This is a strategic and execution-focused SEO and Content Specialist role that will help drive organic growth for local businesses. This role goes beyond traditional SEO – combining Search Engine Optimization (SEO) with Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) to improve visibility across Google, AI Overviews, and emerging search platforms like ChatGPT and voice search.
The ideal candidate is both a thinker and a doer—someone who can develop keyword strategies, create high-performing content, and continuously optimize websites for rankings, traffic, and conversions. You will be responsible for writing and optimizing service pages, city pages, and blog content, while also contributing to technical SEO improvements and building scalable workflows.
(NOTE: This position is open ONLY to candidates currently residing in South Africa. Applications from outside South Africa will not be considered.)
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute SEO strategies for local service businesses.
- Optimize on-page SEO (titles, headers, internal linking, schema).
- Conduct technical audits using Search Atlas, SEMrush/Ubersuggest and GSC.
- Write and optimize Service pages, City pages and Blog content.
- Create content that performs in AI tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google SGE.
- Improve rankings, traffic, and conversions.
- Stay updated on AI search trends and algorithm updates.
- Build SOPs for SEO, AEO, GEO workflows.
REQUIREMENTS
- 2-5+ years SEO and content writing experience
- Strong writing and on-page SEO skills
- Understanding of AI-driven search (AEO/GEO)
- Experience with SEO tools
- Detail-oriented, organized, and self-managed
- Strategic thinker
- Reliable high-speed internet and backup power solution
- Available during partial EST overlap
- Strong verbal and written English skills
Pay: R24 528,00 – R39 245,00 per month
