NextMod, Inc. is a growing modular construction and manufacturing company specializing in classrooms, office buildings, jobsite facilities, and other modular structures for schools, government agencies, municipalities, and commercial clients throughout California.
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on construction, assembly, and installation of modular building components, with an expertise in gypsum/drywall installation to ensure high-quality, durable, and efficient structures.
Position Summary
Modular Mechanics are responsible for general maintenance, general construction, remodeling work and preparation of buildings for delivery to customer sites.
Responsibilities
- Construction & Assembly
- Perform basic Framing, Siding/Hardie Panel, Drywall, Vinyl Tackboard and Cosmetic finishes.
- Installation of structures or fixtures such as plywood subfloor install, plywood roofing install, framing, floorings (carpet tile, VCT, sheet vinyl), trim, drywall, Tackboard and/or FRP, acoustical ceiling and ceiling tile using hand or power tools per plan, drawings and to current relevant building code.
- Performs maintenance service, repairs, and construction in the areas of carpentry, painting, flooring systems, ceiling system, insulation, jamb/door/hardware, drywall/tackboard or FRP.
- Participate in and practice 5S and LEAN in the plan.
Qualifications
- Able to work outside in variable weather conditions.
- Ability to use both manual and power tools and follow operating guidelines.
- Ability to use mathematics to calculate length, width, depth, etc. as it relates to construction and accuracy of specs and requirements.
- Able to take, record and follow standard measurements and cut or separate materials to specific measurements or quantities.
- Multi-powertool experience. (Impact Drill, Nail gun, Saws etc.)
Required Experience
- Prior 5year min. experience in construction or related work required.
- Prior 3year min. experience with Framing, Siding, Drywall, Tackboard/FRP, Acoustical and Flooring.

Special Considerations:
- Position requires manual dexterity and the ability to maintain physical activity for most of the day.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and hold or lift a variety of objects.
- Able to carry, bend, stoop, turn, kneel, crawl, climb a ladder and other manual labor activities.
