Sheq Manager

About the Role

We are seeking a diligent SHEQ Manager to lead our safety, health, environment, and quality management systems. In this role, you will primarily focus on developing and implementing strategies to ensure compliance with relevant legislation while promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the SHEQ management system, ensuring compliance with local and international standards.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality policies, procedures, and legislation.
• Provide guidance and support to management and employees regarding SHEQ matters, fostering a proactive approach to risk management.
• Collaborate with various departments to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement effective control measures.
• Prepare and present SHEQ reports to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement.
• Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses, ensuring corrective actions are implemented effectively.
• Organize and facilitate training sessions to enhance awareness of SHEQ practices among employees.
• Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes, making recommendations for adjustments to policies and procedures as needed.

Requirements

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, or Quality Management.
• Demonstrable experience in SHEQ management within a similar industry.
• Proven track record in conducting audits and incident investigations.
• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and best practices in health, safety, environmental, and quality management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Proficiency in using SHEQ management software and tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, or ISO 45001.
• Experience in preparing regulatory submissions and interfacing with external regulatory bodies.
• Previous experience in a leadership role, guiding teams towards achieving SHEQ objectives.
• Familiarity with implementation of sustainability initiatives in an organizational context.
