Join Scissero – The Law Firm of the Future
About Us
Scissero is an AI-enhanced legal services company built for financial institutions. We combine expert legal support with intelligent automation transforming how transactional law is delivered.
We’re not a traditional law firm. We are a diverse and globally distributed team of lawyers, engineers, and innovators working across the U.S, EMEA, and APAC. We believe technology augments, not replaces legal expertise. Our culture values collaboration, inclusivity, and flexibility.
Position Overview:
As a Senior Legal Specialist you will be responsible for reviewing and negotiating commercial documents: MSAs, SOWs, SaaS agreements, lease agreements, data processing addenda (DPAs), confidentiality agreements (NDAs), and engagement letters. In addition, you will review the work of junior team members and assist with their professional development and ongoing training.
This role sits at the core of our legal delivery team, supporting fast-moving, high-value transactions where precision, responsiveness, and reliability are critical.
Working hours: 9am-6pm SAST
Key Responsibilities
-
You will take ownership of reviewing and negotiating a broad range of core commercial agreements: MSAs, SOWs, SaaS agreements, lease agreements, data processing addenda (DPAs), confidentiality agreements (NDAs), and engagement letters.
-
Apply client-specific playbooks and structured frameworks to ensure alignment with agreed client positions.
-
Identify deviations from playbook positions and implement appropriate fallback language in line with client guidance.
-
Review the work of junior team members and assist with their professional development and ongoing training.

Manage your own workflow and document queue, prioritising effectively to meet defined turnaround times and service levels.
-
Collaborate closely with colleagues across our global legal team to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery.
-
Work directly with internal stakeholders to maintain operational efficiency and service excellence.
-
Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes and delivery of workflows.
Required Experience:
-
3+ years of reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts such as vendor agreements, data processing addenda, confidentiality agreements and engagement letters.
-
You will have previously worked with commercial legal teams (and perhaps procurement teams), whether in-house, at a service provider or at a law firm.
-
You enjoy working within clearly defined rules and guidance, with a strong preference for applying structured playbooks rather than navigating legal ambiguity.
-
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
-
Enthusiasm for new technologies, particularly Artificial Intelligence and machine learning, with a desire to innovate within the legal industry.
Global Benefits
