Purpose of the Role
The Senior Business Analyst / Software Project Delivery Lead is responsible for bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions while ensuring the successful delivery of software projects. The role involves gathering and documenting requirements, managing stakeholders, facilitating solution design, coordinating project activities, and driving delivery to meet business objectives, timelines, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities Business Analysis
- Engage with stakeholders to understand business objectives, challenges, and opportunities.
- Elicit, analyse, validate, and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and process-mapping sessions.
- Produce Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Specifications, User Stories, Use Cases, and Process Flows.
- Conduct impact assessments and gap analyses.
- Support solution design and ensure alignment with business needs.
Project Delivery Leadership
- Lead end-to-end software project delivery from initiation to implementation.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
- Coordinate activities across business, development, testing, infrastructure, and support teams.
- Track project progress and proactively manage risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, budget, and quality expectations.
- Facilitate project governance meetings and provide status reporting to stakeholders.
Agile & Delivery Management
- Act as Product Owner or Scrum representative when required.
- Manage and prioritise project backlogs.
- Facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Ensure requirements are clearly understood by development teams.
- Monitor sprint performance and delivery metrics.
Stakeholder Management
- Build strong relationships with business and technical stakeholders.
- Manage expectations and communicate project progress effectively.
- Facilitate decision-making and conflict resolution.
- Present recommendations and project updates to senior management.
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Support test strategy development.
- Review test cases and ensure requirements traceability.
- Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Validate delivered solutions against business requirements.
- Support production deployments and post-implementation reviews.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve business processes and project delivery methodologies.
- Drive adoption of best practices in business analysis and software delivery.
- Contribute to organisational project management and governance standards.
Minimum Qualifications
- Business Analysis certification (CBAP, CCBA, ECBA, or equivalent) preferred.
- Agile/Scrum certification preferred.
- Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, CAPM, or equivalent) advantageous.
Experience Required
- 7+ years of Business Analysis experience.
- 3+ years leading software project delivery initiatives.
- Experience delivering enterprise software, digital transformation, or system implementation projects.
- Proven experience working with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
Technical Skills
- Requirements elicitation and documentation.
- Process modelling (BPMN, Visio).
- Agile tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or Trello.
- Project planning and tracking.
- SQL and data analysis.
- User Story development and backlog management.
- Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- UAT coordination and release management.
