Job Summary:
A well-established Printing and Packaging company based in Springfield Park, Durban is seeking an experienced Repro & Digital Print Manager to take full responsibility for the Repro, Design, and Digital Print departments.
This is a senior, hands-on role suited to a technically strong individual who understands the complete pre-press workflow from artwork to plate, and who can manage designers, control workflow, and operate digital print equipment when required.
The successful candidate will ensure that all jobs leaving pre-press are 100% print-ready, correctly imposed, colour-accurate, and delivered to production on time.
This position is critical to production efficiency and requires a highly organised, deadline-driven, and detail-oriented professional.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take full responsibility for the Repro, Design workflow, and Digital Print department.
- Preflight, check, and correct all incoming artwork to ensure print readiness according to job specifications.
- Impose and layout files for litho, die-cutting, folding cartons, labels, and other packaging formats.
- Ensure correct colour setup, bleed, trapping, overprints, and registration marks.
- Manage the full CTP workflow and plate output for production.
- Oversee proofing processes and ensure accuracy before jobs go to print.
- Manage and coordinate the design department to ensure artwork is prepared timeously for production.
- Oversee digital print production to ensure jobs are executed on time.
- Operate digital print equipment when required.
- Troubleshoot artwork and print-related technical issues for production and design teams.
- Maintain file integrity and ensure all artwork complies with company and ISO standards.
- Liaise with clients, designers, sales staff, and production to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

Required Skills & Experience:
- Matric (Grade 12) essential.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior Repro / Pre-Press role within the printing or packaging industry.
- Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat).
- Solid experience with imposition software and CTP workflow.
- Strong understanding of colour management, spot colours, trapping, and print processes.
- Experience in packaging, die-lines, and carton layout essential.
- Knowledge of ISO and print production standards advantageous.
- Experience operating digital printing equipment is advantageous.
- Own reliable transport is essential.
Remuneration:
- Salary (CTC) will be market-related and dependent on experience.
