SUMMARY
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Punch Press Setup Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining punch press machines in a fast-paced production environment. The operator will ensure that machines are running efficiently, troubleshoot issues as they arise, and perform routine maintenance to ensure machine longevity and safety
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:
- Set up and operate punch press machines based on production specifications.
- Load and unload Die’s into machines.
- Perform quality checks and ensure that parts meet the required standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machine issues quickly to minimize downtime.
- Perform routine die and machine maintenance.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Work closely with supervisors and team members to meet production goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Previous experience operating punch press machines is required.
- Knowledge with small punch press dies and tool and die maintenance.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Must be organized.
- Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work well independently and as a group.
- Attention to detail, multi-tasking and effective time management.
- Ability to stand, bend, lift and carry up to 50lbs.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Physical Demands
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work an 8+ hour shift standing, bending and reaching throughout the duration of your shift
- Consistently works in a noisy and hot environment
- Occasionally, moving equipment and parts requiring 50lbs of force
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to a dusty environment from powder paint, high temperatures, and the potential risk of ultraviolet exposure.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are generally Monday through Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Applicant must be able to work weekends or evening hours if necessary. Rate of pay will be based on experience.
