About the team

Finance sits at the very heart of WorldRemit. In addition to the normal monthly functions of every finance team (such as managing the suppliers subledgers for the group, month end close, reporting, payroll, cash management etc.) the team at WorldRemit is responsible for ensuring that the flow of Accounts Payable works in a timely, cost-efficient and effective manner.

We’re now looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team.

The Accounts Payable Specialist is a key participant in ensuring this is done professionally and once set up is handed on to the relevant teams. Working closely with wider finance throughout the month on accounting items, wider procurement with reporting and assisting other departments internally with customer care, the role sits within a team of three, reporting to the Global Accounts Payable Director. This role would place you between the team of two and the AP Director

What you bring to the table

• Minimum 5 years working within an AP function, preferably in a multinational organisation

• Accounting knowledge when it comes to debits, credits, journals, intercompany journals, tax on invoices, month and year end processes and purchase orders (accruing, grni etc) and controls

• Hands on approach to working in a fast paced environment that at times mimics that of a start-up but still operates as if SOX compliant

• Strong customer service skills when working with colleagues, stakeholders and vendors

• Knowledge of Netsuite, Pivot or comparable ERP systems desirable

What you will focus on

• Performing end to end AP activities starting from master data management through invoice

• Global invoice processing involving the three way match process, taxes (with-holding tax, reverse charge tax, standard tax).

• Payment process from proposal creation, funding requests, execution and posting

• Goods receipted not processed controls and accruals of purchase orders

• Debit balance investigation

• Month end reconciliations

• Responding to queries from internal/external stakeholders via e-mail/phone;

• Highlighting any potential bottle necks to ensure that SLA breaches do not occur;

• Ensuring that documented controls are executed

• Keeping processes documented

• Assist in debt recovery process (running reports and analysis)

• Work closely with Zepz Procurement analyzing payment on time and other KPIs

Nice to have/ Bonus Points if you have

• Fintech experience, experience within a SOX environment.
