Plant Manager – Beverage Manufacturing Jobs in Stikland at Henties Juices
The Plant Manager will be expected to become involved where challenges, underperformance or operational risks arise. They must have sufficient production, maintenance and procurement knowledge to guide the managers, challenge decisions and assist the teams in finding practical solutions.
A key part of the role will be to ensure continuous improvement across all three departments. This includes improving:
- Production planning, output and efficiency
- Preventative maintenance and breakdown management
- Procurement planning, stock availability and supplier performance
- Departmental accountability and reporting
- Team capability, skills and performance
- Communication and cooperation between departments
The Plant Manager must be able to manage people firmly and fairly. Where an employee or manager is not performing, the Plant Manager must address the issue, set clear improvement expectations and provide the necessary guidance and support. Where performance does not improve, the Plant Manager must be capable of recommending and managing the appropriate corrective or disciplinary process.
The position will form part of strategic and operational decision-making within the business. The Plant Manager will participate in discussions relating to production capacity, machinery, maintenance priorities, procurement, raw-material availability, suppliers, capital expenditure and future plant development.
The Plant Manager will also be responsible for overseeing the future water plant once it becomes operational. This responsibility will be phased into the position and will include the management of production, procurement and maintenance activities relating to the water plant.
Performance will be measured according to results, departmental performance, accountability and improvement rather than physical presence alone.
Pay: R40 000,00 – R50 000,00 per month
