Mould Repair Technician

Location: Lanseria plant

Programme Duration: 12 Months


KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate conventional milling machine, grinding machine, lathe.
  • Perform repairs and planned maintenance on moulds as per quality system requirements.
  • Assure that the quality of the parts being moulded meet part specifications including part drawing, and cosmetic specification.
  • Follow all safety requirements and ensure all safety devises in mould room are operational. Shut down, lock out equipment and inform supervisor if safety device is found defective.
  • Tracking all mould maintenance schedules relevant to PM’s
  • Using crane and rigging equipment.
  • Striping any type of hot runner elements, thermocouples. According to hot runner specifications.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, design schematics and CAD drawings.
  • Cutting and shaping blocks to specified dimensions.
  • Measuring and marking metals stock for machining.

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY

  • Ensure you work in a safe manner by following company health, safety, and housekeeping regulations,
  • Apply Good Manufacturing Practices by ensuring that the plant is clean, well-organized and 5S is exercised,
  • Report any injuries and complete incident reports within your shift
  • Contribute towards Operational Excellence (OPEX), continuous improvement and safe behaviour by reporting all observed near misses, incidents, and accidents through the company Yellow Card system to raise safety awareness.

Based on the Business Process Management (BPM) processes the job holder is responsible for:


S6 (Assure product conformity)

  • S6.3 Responsible to comply with all Hygiene requirements in the plant.
  • S6.2 Support complaint handling by reporting all identified non-conformities and support in the implementation of effective corrective actions determined by the process owner, when needed.

S10 (Ensure occupational health, safety and environment)

  • Ensure that HSE compliance in own area of responsibility.
  • Report any incident or unsafe conditions seen in the plant/ work area.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Aged between 18 and 34.
  • Must be Unemployed.
  • Must not have taken part on the YES Programme before

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Matric and Tool Maker Trade/ Fitter and Turner Trade.
  • Min 3 Years experience in a technical Field, preferably within injection, stretch or blow moulding technologies.
  • Written and oral local language skills are required.
  • Ability to read technical drawings.
  • Excellent communication and inter.personal skills.
