Mixing and Weighing Operator Jobs in Alberton at Dynamic Steel Coaters
Key Responsibilities
1. Raw Material Weighing
- Read and interpret production batch sheets, formulations, and work orders.
- Collect required raw materials from stores or staging areas.
- Accurately weigh ingredients according to specified tolerances.
- Verify material codes, batch numbers, and quantities before use.
- Record actual weights and maintain traceability documentation.
- Ensure correct labeling of weighed materials.
2. Mixing Operations
- Load raw materials into mixers according to approved mixing sequences.
- Operate mixing and blending equipment safely and efficiently.
- Monitor mixing times, temperatures, speeds, and process parameters.
- Ensure uniform blending and prevent contamination.
- Transfer completed batches to the next production stage.
3. Quality Control
- Perform visual and basic in-process quality checks.
- Identify abnormalities such as:
- Incorrect colour
- Poor dispersion
- Contamination
- Incorrect batch weight
- Segregation or inconsistent mix
- Report deviations immediately to supervisors or quality personnel.
- Follow SOPs and quality management requirements.
4. Equipment Operation & Maintenance
- Perform pre-start inspections.
- Clean mixers, weighing equipment, bins, and surrounding work areas.
- Conduct basic operator maintenance and report equipment faults.
- Ensure scales are calibrated and functioning correctly.
5. Safety & Compliance
- Follow all health and safety procedures.
- Wear required PPE at all times.
- Handle chemicals and powders according to safety guidelines.
- Maintain clean and organized workstations (5S principles).
- Participate in safety meetings and training.
6. Documentation & Reporting
- Complete production records accurately.
- Record batch start/end times.
- Track raw material usage and wastage.
- Report downtime and production issues.
Minimum RequirementsEducation
- Grade 12 / Matric (preferred)
Experience
- 1–3 years experience in manufacturing, mixing, batching, or weighing operations.
- Experience with powders, chemicals, plastics, coatings, or related processes advantageous.

Pay: R6 000,00 – R8 000,00 per month
