MICE Consultant (Incentives & Groups, inbound Southern & Eastern Africa) Cape Town Jobs in Cape Town at SALT Concepts
Responsibilities & requirements:
- Preparing comprehensive costings and itineraries from A to Z for MICE and special interest groups
- Full operational handling of inbound incentives within South & Southern Africa (guided within the first year)
- Creating detailed proposals, primarily in PowerPoint and Excel
- Liaising confidently with both clients and suppliers
- Negotiating effectively with suppliers
- Full financial reconciliation of own projects
- Managing all client and supplier invoicing and payments
- Researching and sourcing suitable services and suppliers
- 100% fluent in English (mother tongue level); German is a strong advantage
- Excellent communication skills
- Matric not essential (e.g. hospitality apprenticeship also considered)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience handling inbound incentive groups and MICE business into South Africa or ideally Southern Africa
- Strong knowledge of Southern & Eastern Africa
- Solid supplier knowledge within the group and incentive sector (at least in South Africa)
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Comfortable working independently within a flat hierarchy structure
- Interest in being part of a small, owner-run business with high standards
- Willingness to occasionally work weekends (time off in lieu granted)
- Team player with a flexible mindset
- Valid South African work permit
- Driver’s license and own transport
- Proficient in PowerPoint (ideally 3+ years), Microsoft Excel, and Word
- No specific system knowledge (e.g. Tourplan) required
- Office-based position; after 3 months, option to apply for up to 1 day home office per week
- Standard work week: Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work due to operations (weekend/public holiday work compensated)
- 40 working hours per week including breaks
- Salary dependent on experience (e.g. Senior level approx. CTC ZAR 55,000–65,000/month)
- Performance review after 6 months, then annually
- 13th cheque based on performance
- Leave structure: 15 days (year 1); 15 + 5 educational days (year 2); 20 + 5 educational days (year 3 onwards)
- Permanent contract offered
