Job Title: Locum Doctor required for a Mobile Medical Officer/GP Ad Hoc post
Location: Somerset West, Strand, Gordon’s Bay and Stellenbosch.

We are looking for a doctor, experienced in primary healthcare, who is interested in earning additional income on an ad hoc basis.
The doctor needs to already be based in Somerset West or surrounds.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced doctor to join our team. As a doctor, you will provide medical care and treatment to patients in various settings, including homes, assisted living facilities, guest houses, hotels and offices. This position is ideal for a doctor who has a passion for providing care to patients in their environment and enjoys the flexibility of working in different settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide quality healthcare services to patients in a variety of settings.
- Assess, diagnose and treat medical conditions, including chronic diseases, acute illnesses, and injuries.
- Develop and implement treatment plans in consultation with other healthcare professionals, including specialists.
- Monitor and manage patient progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing information and advice on their medical conditions and treatment options.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and ensure that patient confidentiality is maintained.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, therapists, and other doctors, to ensure a coordinated approach to patient care.
Requirements:
- Medical degree and registration with the appropriate medical council
- Relevant experience in a primary healthcare clinical setting, with experience providing medical services in private healthcare
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with patients from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently, with the ability to manage a diverse patient population
- Availability to work on a mobile, locum basis, including weekends and public holidays
- Access to reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license and insurance
