We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Loan Originator to join our dedicated financial services team. In this role, you will be the key driver in helping clients secure the financing they need by guiding them through the loan application process with enthusiasm and professionalism. Your expertise in loan origination, customer service, and financial sales will empower clients to achieve their homeownership or refinancing goals. Duties
- Engage with prospective clients to understand their financial needs and provide tailored loan options aligned with FNMA (Fannie Mae) guidelines and Fair Housing regulations.
- Collect, review, and verify all necessary documentation for loan applications, including income verification, credit reports, and asset statements.
- Conduct thorough credit analysis and underwriting support to assess borrower eligibility and ensure compliance with lending standards.
- Utilize mortgage software tools to process applications efficiently and accurately.
- Negotiate terms with clients, lenders, and third-party vendors to secure favorable loan conditions while maintaining regulatory compliance.
- Guide clients through the entire loan process—from application submission to approval—keeping them informed at every step.
- Maintain detailed records of all transactions, correspondence, and documentation in accordance with TILA (Truth in Lending Act) requirements and banking regulations.
- Collaborate with underwriters, processors, escrow officers, and other team members to facilitate smooth loan processing and servicing.
- Stay updated on changes in mortgage laws, Fair Housing regulations, and industry best practices to provide compliant and ethical service.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in loan origination or mortgage sales within a banking or financial services environment.
- Strong knowledge of FNMA guidelines, TILA regulations, and mortgage servicing procedures.
- Excellent negotiation skills combined with exceptional customer service abilities to build trust and rapport with clients.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately using 10-key typing skills and math fundamentals for credit analysis and contract review.
- Solid understanding of loan processing steps from application intake through underwriting approval.
- Knowledge of Fair Housing laws and ethical standards related to lending practices.
- Effective communication skills for explaining complex financial concepts clearly to clients from diverse backgrounds. - Active NMLS license (state licensing required)
- Experience as a Mortgage Loan Originator preferred (open to motivated self-starters)
Pay: $60,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year
