Job Overview:
The Loan Consultant is the first point of contact for clients and plays a key role in delivering excellent customer service. This role supports the branch by assisting clients with loan applications, providing product information, processing documentation, and ensuring a smooth and professional client experience. The consultant also contributes to branch growth through business development, administration, compliance, and basic credit processes while maintaining high ethical standards and operational accuracy.
Job Responsibilities:
· Provide friendly, efficient, and professional service to walk‑in clients and telephonic or online enquiries/applications.
· Assist clients with loan applications, required documentation, affordability assessments, and product explanations.
· Capture client information accurately on internal systems and ensure all documentation is complete and compliant.
· Conduct basic verifications such as employment checks, income confirmation, and document validation.
· Support the branch with daily administrative tasks including filing, record‑keeping, and report preparation.
· Promote loan products and services in line with company guidelines and responsible lending practices.
· Maintain a clean, organised, and client‑ready branch environment.
· Handle client queries, complaints, and escalations professionally and timeously.
· Uphold confidentiality, compliance, and ethical standards in all client interactions.
· Assist with collections follow‑ups and repayment reminders when required.
· Contribute to branch targets through quality service, accurate processing, and client retention.
· Work collaboratively with branch staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
Job Requirements:
· Matric / Grade 12 certificate (compulsory)
· 2–3 years’ experience in direct client service (any industry; retail, banking, call centre, hospitality, etc.).
· Basic computer literacy and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
· Strong communication skills and a customer‑centric mindset.
· High attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to follow procedures.
· Professional conduct, reliability, and strong work ethic.
· Clear criminal record (mandatory).
· Willingness and ability to work extended hours occasionally as well as Saturdays
· Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
· Honesty and integrity
