Job Title: IT Technician
Job Summary:
We are looking for a reliable and knowledgeable IT Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot computer systems, networks, and software. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth day-to-day IT operations and provide technical support to users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and networks
- Provide technical support to staff (in person, phone, or remote)
- Troubleshoot system, network, and hardware issues
- Set up user accounts, passwords, and access permissions
- Monitor system performance and ensure security and backups
- Maintain printers, routers, and other IT equipment
- Perform regular updates and system upgrades
- Keep records of issues and solutions (IT documentation)
- Ensure data protection and cybersecurity best practices are followed
Requirements:
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of computer systems and networks
- Experience with Windows, Pastel, POS Systems and common software applications
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Relevant qualification or certification (e.g., IT diploma, CompTIA A+, Network+) is an advantage
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of networking (LAN/WAN, routers, switches)
- Understanding of cybersecurity practices
- Experience with remote support tools
- Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft 365)
Working Conditions:
- Office-based with occasional on-site support
- May require after-hours support in emergencies
