Job Overview
Our client, a growing commercial and industrial solar company, is looking to bring on an experienced Licensed Electrician to support a number of solar farm projects in southwestern Vermont. This role is a full-time position with our client.
Job Responsibilities
- Travelling to utility-scale project sites in southwestern Vermont.
- Planning and installing underground and above-ground electrical runs, trenching layouts, combiner boxes, and heavy feeder cables.
- Installing, terminating, and wiring central inverters and utility-scale string inverters.
- Wiring and integrating solar tracker systems and motor controllers.
- Assisting with Medium Voltage (MV) terminations and transformer connections.
- Testing, meggering, and commissioning DC and AC systems.
- Ensuring all OSHA, NEC, and heavy civil safety standards are strictly met and adhered to in outdoor environments.
Successful Candidates Must Have:
- A valid electrical license from the state of Vermont
- At least 5 years of electrical experience, with a minimum of 2-3 years specifically on utility-scale or large ground mount solar projects.
- Strong experience with 1000V / 1500V DC systems and familiarity with Medium Voltage (MV) AC equipment.
- Experience with heavy cable pulling, underground conduit installation (PVC/re-route), and DC collection systems.
- Familiarity with utility grid interconnections and substation/switchgear safety.
- Willingness to travel 100% of the time and work in outdoor, variable weather conditions.
- Communication, collaboration, and detail-orientation skills.
- A valid driver’s license.
