Duties
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, trimming, pruning, planting, and watering to ensure healthy growth and vibrant appearance.
- Operate hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruners, and hoes for planting, weeding, and soil preparation.
- Use power tools like trimmers, blowers, and lawn mowers efficiently and safely to maintain lawns and gardens.
- Manage irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and troubleshoot issues as needed.
- Execute hardscape installations such as patios, walkways, retaining walls, and other outdoor features using appropriate equipment.
- Conduct tree care activities including trimming, pruning, and removal with proper techniques to promote safety and health.
- Assist with snow plowing during winter months to keep pathways clear and safe for visitors or residents.
Experience
- Prior experience in landscaping or horticulture is highly desirable; familiarity with lawn care practices is essential.
- Mechanical knowledge related to operating construction equipment such as excavators or other land-moving machinery is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with landscape maintenance including gardening, tree care, hardscape installation, and irrigation systems.
- Knowledge of landscaping principles combined with the ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Understanding of horticulture practices to support plant health and landscape aesthetics.
- Ability to perform physical tasks outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent teamwork skills for collaborating on large projects or routine maintenance tasks.
