JUNIOR RESEARCHER: AGROMETEOROLOGY Jobs in Pretoria at The Agricultural Research Council
- Conducting research on climate data quality control,
- Supporting weather information dissemination to farmers, particularly smallholders in community-based projects,
- Updating and developing standard operating procedures for climate data quality control,
- To ensure successful completion of research projects in compliance with set standards,
- Compliance with Occupational Health & Safety regulations and procedures,
- To successfully market and promote Agrometeorology services/products to relevant role-players,
- Involvement in campus activities such as research committees, section meetings and seminars,
- Scientific networking, both nationally and internationally,
- Technology Transfer,
- Ensures optimal utilisation of resources,
- MSc in Agrometeorology.
- 1-2 years of research experience in the relevant field.
- Minimum of 1 peer-reviewed publication.
- A proven experience in weather stations and working with climate data.
- Research background in climate variability and change impacts on agriculture.
- Assist in developing climate data quality control standard.
- Assist in publishing climate data quality control articles.
- Passion in climate data quality control.
- Willingness to work 100% in the office.
- Proven communication and presentation skills.
- Valid driver’s license (code: 8/EB) as the position requires traveling.
