Wasteplan has an exciting opportunity immediately available for an HR Intern who wishes to join a highly complex, pressurised environment that will enable professional and personal growth throughout the HR domain. As an HR intern you will be responsible for providing effective customer service to internal clients and key stakeholders to drive efficiency in key HR activities that ensure sound compliance and operational stability.
Role and Responsibilities
- Distribute finalised PRF to recruitment for Blue-collar recruitment
- Support advert alignment to job profile
- Collect CV’s from Recruitment and save in relevant folder
- Finalise the shortlist for hiring manager (top 5 candidates)
- Cooridinate interview logistics: Scheduling of first interview, finalisation of interview rubric with CV, participate in first round interview
- Ensure that all panel members haved scores and finalise the consolidated scores for manager selection
- Liaise with recruitment to conduct criminal checks and ensure ontime communication with candidate
- Provide all details to recruitment for drafting of offer letter and send final signed offer to candidate
- Assist with complete standard contract of employment template for new hire from time to time
- Assist with preparing induction documentation which includes, COE, Induction Survey/ Questionnaire, Nondisclosure, disciplinary code, takeonsheet, employee information schedule, employee checklist and all other supporting document
- Maintain an updated induction presentation and conduct induction presentation to new hires
- Ensure new hires are added onto S.O and ensure 100% accuracy of employee data
- Ensure HR compliance of employee hard copy and electronic folders by no later than 1 week of start date
- Ensure 100% accuracy with offboarding checklist, and ensure ontime submission of termination documents, ensure recruitment is informed of exiting employee, follow up with line manager on the employees last day
- Check time and attendance data on a weekly basis, identify and follow up with contract managers on discrepencies in weekly payroll meetings
- Ensure and review leave form submitted and ensure compliance, follow up with cm on outstanding leave forms and supporting documents
- Support with IOD Claims and administration
- Support with conducting audits on pay queries and ensure timeously processing
- Provide probationary template and review proabationary goals, schedule one meeting per month with manager and employee to formally document progress, draft succesful completion of probation letter and ensure filing accordingly
- Ensure finalised FT contracts are completed and aligned to the YES learner requirements where applicable
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
- At least 1-2 years’ experience and exposure to key HR domains within the lifecycle
- BCom Honours HR / Industrial Psychology or related qualification
- Preferred industries include manufacturing, services or related
- Process driven, methodical, high levels of attention to detail and can exercise high levels of EQ
- Highly confidential and good communication skills
- Digital savvy and forward thinking
- Showcase integrity and business ethics
- Problem solving and solution orientated mindset
- Must demonstrate alignment with Wasteplan’s values
