Overview:
West Med Group is seeking a passionate and experienced General Dentist to join our growing multidisciplinary medical and dental team. The successful candidate should be confident in comprehensive family dentistry and capable of delivering high-quality patient care across a broad range of dental procedures.
We are looking for a motivated clinician with strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and a patient-centred approach to dentistry.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BChD) or equivalent recognised qualification
- Registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa
- Minimum of 3 years post-community service clinical experience
- Valid indemnity insurance
- Excellent clinical and interpersonal skills
- Strong diagnostic and treatment planning abilities
Clinical Experience Required:
The ideal candidate should have practical experience and confidence in:
- General family dentistry
- Dental implants
- Crown and bridge work
- Root canal treatment (Endodontics)
- Fixed and removable prosthodontics
- Braces and orthodontic treatments
- Invisalign or clear aligner therapy
- Cosmetic dentistry
- Restorative dentistry
- Preventative dental care
Advantageous Experience:
- Portfolio of evidence showcasing previous clinical work and cases
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment
- Digital dentistry experience
- Experience with intraoral scanners and modern dental technology
- Sedation dentistry experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of dental conditions
- Develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to patient needs
- Perform routine and advanced dental procedures
- Maintain accurate and compliant patient records
- Educate patients on oral health and preventative care
- Collaborate with medical and dental colleagues within the practice
- Uphold the highest standards of infection control and patient safety
