Location: Johannesburg
Experience Required: 5+ years in food manufacturing or bakery quality management
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or related field
Fresh Earth Bake House is a rapidly growing producer of gluten‑free and health‑focused foods. We’re seeking a Food Safety & Quality Control Manager to lead our quality assurance program and ensure compliance with all food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain food safety and quality management systems (HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000)
- Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments across production areas
- Ensure compliance with local and international food safety regulations
- Manage product testing, traceability, and allergen control procedures
- Train and supervise staff on hygiene, safety, and quality protocols
- Investigate non‑conformances and implement corrective actions
- Collaborate with production and R&D teams to maintain product consistency and innovation
- Prepare documentation for regulatory and certification audits
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Food Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in food safety and quality management (preferably in bakery or FMCG)
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and ISO/FSSC standards
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Passion for health‑focused, gluten‑free food production
