Financial Controller Jobs in Home Based at MacMillan Mzansi Accountancy
Operating across multiple legal entities, this position will be placed in MacMillan Consulting as part of our TaaS for one of our clients who are a fast-growing company.
Financial Reporting & Consolidation
- Own the preparation of consolidated and entity-level financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS
- Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close across all entities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Oversee intercompany eliminations, reconciliations, and consolidation journal entries
- Manage the preparation of management accounts for each entity individually and on a consolidated basis
Intercompany & Multi-Entity Accounting
- Establish and maintain a clear intercompany accounting framework, including management fees, loans, and cost allocations
- Ensure intercompany balances are reconciled and agreed between all entities prior to close
- Review and maintain transfer pricing documentation and intercompany agreements
- Maintain consistent chart of accounts and accounting policies across all entities
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Design, implement, and monitor a robust internal control framework across all entities
- Coordinate quarter end and year-end audit preparation; act as primary liaison with external auditors
- Identify control gaps and recommend improvements to policies and procedures
- Maintain audit-ready financial records across all entities at all times
- Manage operational compliance, including entity registrations, annual filings, sales
and payroll tax processes, and adherence to internal approval and expenditure
policies.
Cash Flow & Treasury
- Monitor cash positions across all entity bank accounts and manage intercompany funding arrangements
- Prepare weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts for Director of Finance review
- Oversee AP/AR aging, payment runs, and collections strategy to optimise working capital
- Manage banking relationships and coordinate on payment platforms (e.g., Stripe payouts, ACH, wire transfers)
Systems, Process & Team
- Serve as the lead user and administrator of the multi-entity accounting system (e.g., QuickBooks Online)
- Identify and implement process automation opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve close timelines
- Document financial policies, procedures, and month-end close checklists to ensure continuity
- Provide technical guidance and review support to the Senior Accountant and any junior finance staff
- Work on projects to optimize and scale the accounting function
Pay: R38 000,00 – R40 000,00 per month

- Bachelors (Required)
