Footsoldier (Field Agent) — Vodacom / OSD Khayelitsha Network
Role Purpose
Drive daily activations across Khayelitsha by engaging households, spaza shops, taxi ranks, malls, and community hotspots. The Footsoldier is responsible for SIM activations, VodaPay registrations, POS merchant registrations, and insurance product sales, while maintaining compliance, professionalism, and strong community relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct door‑to‑door, street‑level, and community‑based activations across Khayelitsha (Site B, Harare, Makhaza, Enkanini, RR, Taiwan, etc.).
- Perform SIM activations, RICA, VodaPay registrations, POS registrations, and Insurance sales.
- Identify and sign up spaza shops and small merchants for POS devices.
- Meet daily and weekly targets for all product lines.
- Attend morning stand‑ups for territory allocation and performance updates.
- Capture customer details accurately on mobile apps.
- Represent OSD and Vodacom with professionalism and community respect.
- Report daily numbers to the Supervisor (SIMs, VodaPay, POS leads, insurance leads).
- Maintain safety awareness as per management proposals.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Must live in Khayelitsha with strong local knowledge.
- Comfortable working on foot and engaging with the public.
- Smartphone with WhatsApp, GPS, and data capability.
- Clear communication in isiXhosa and English.
- No criminal record.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet daily targets.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in sales, insurance preferred.
- Door‑to‑door sales, retail promotions, or field marketing.
- Experience working in township environments with strong community credibility.
