Expert Mechanical Engineer Jobs in Johannesburg at Warrior Edge Projects
We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Expert Mechanical Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist mechanical engineering expertise, technical leadership, project support, and engineering solutions within a heavy industrial, power generation, manufacturing, or related environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced mechanical engineering expertise and technical guidance.
- Lead engineering design reviews, technical assessments, and problem-solving initiatives.
- Develop and review engineering specifications, drawings, calculations, and reports.
- Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, statutory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Support maintenance, reliability, and optimization initiatives for mechanical plant and equipment.
- Participate in project planning, execution, commissioning, and close-out activities.
- Conduct root cause failure analyses and implement corrective actions.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and technical personnel.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
Minimum RequirementsQualifications
Applicants must possess one of the following:
- External BTech/BEng Qualification not ratified by ECSA plus a minimum of 2 years relevant engineering experience; or
- External Technical Diploma ratified by ECSA or Internal Diploma plus a minimum of 4 years relevant engineering experience; or
- External BEng Qualification ratified by ECSA or Internal BEng Degree.
Additional Requirements
- Registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) will be advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience in mechanical engineering within a power station, heavy industrial, mining, manufacturing, petrochemical, or similar environment.
- Sound knowledge of engineering standards, codes, and statutory regulations.
- Strong technical report writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant engineering software.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Valid driver’s licence will be advantageous.
