Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Drywall Hanger and Finisher to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, finishing, and repairing drywall surfaces to create smooth, durable walls and ceilings that meet high standards of quality and craftsmanship. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of residential, commercial, and restoration projects, ensuring spaces are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Duties
- Measure, cut, hang, and secure drywall panels on walls and ceilings according to project specifications and blueprints
- Apply joint compound (mud), tape seams, and sand surfaces to achieve a flawless finish ready for painting or further finishing
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure accurate installation
- Install additional components such as trim carpentry, door hanging, fixtures, and moldings to enhance the overall finish
- Perform repairs on damaged drywall or water-damaged surfaces as part of restoration or remodeling projects
- Use hand tools and power equipment safely to complete tasks efficiently while maintaining quality standards
- Collaborate with other trades such as carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and painting teams to ensure seamless project execution
Skills
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating and blueprint reading for precise installation planning
- Experience with plastering, stucco application, tile laying, flooring installation, and metal stud framing
- Skilled in caulking, drywall finishing techniques, drywall taping, sanding, and plastering for smooth surfaces
- Familiarity with restoration industry practices including mold remediation and water damage restoration processes
- Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately for fixture installation and framing details
- Hands-on experience with construction site safety protocols and proper use of tools such as airless paint sprayers and hand tools
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt quickly on diverse projects involving remodeling or renovation work
