Position Summary
Taconic, a global leader in the manufacturing of PTFE coated fiberglass fabric, belts, tapes and laminates is seeking the following opening available in our corporate office in Petersburgh, NY.
A Custodian/Janitor to be responsible for general cleaning duties of all buildings at the Petersburgh facility. This opening is on 2nd shift.
Primary Duties
- Sweeping, vacuuming and mopping of cafeterias, lavatories and office areas.
- Emptying garbage cans and replacing liners throughout the facility.
- Picking up litter from around buildings and grounds.
- Washing windows and walls throughout the facility.
- Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms and replenishing supplies.
- Mixing water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
- Snow removal from entrances and walkways.
- Replenishing custodial supplies.
Occasional Duties
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Attributes
High School diploma or equivalent. Working knowledge of equipment, materials and supplies used in building and grounds cleaning and maintenance. Ability to work independently and to complete daily activities according to work schedule. Good interpersonal skills with ability to prioritize based on changing work conditions.

Pay: $19.25 – $21.00 per hour
