Part-Time Lecturers Wanted – AACA
African Academy of Cinematic Arts is looking for passionate and knowledgeable part-time lecturers to join our academic team.
We are currently expanding our pool of lecturers for degree-level teaching and are looking for candidates who can bring both academic insight and real-world experience into the classroom.
Applicants must have at least:
An Honours Degree or equivalent NQF Level 8 qualification in a relevant field.
Relevant field:
Cinematography, Social Science, Sociology or Psychology.

- Students who have recently graduated that have 1-2 years industry experience
- Master’s or PhD students looking for part-time teaching opportunities
- Retired academics or professionals who still want to contribute to education
- Industry professionals with strong academic qualifications
- Researchers, writers, filmmakers, media practitioners, and creative professionals with teaching potential
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
- Confident in their subject area
- Able to explain concepts clearly to students
- Reliable, organised, and professional
- Comfortable working with lesson plans, assessments, and an LMS
- Open to training and academic guidance
- Passionate about developing the next generation of film, media, and creative industry professionals
About the Role
This is a part-time / ad-hoc lecturing opportunity based at AACA Film College.
Lecturers may be required to:
- Prepare and deliver engaging lessons
- Develop or follow lesson plans and teaching materials
- Set and mark assessments
- Provide student support and academic feedback
- Participate in basic academic administration where required
