Role Purpose

To strategically grow and manage wholesale and online retail accounts while protecting margin, strengthening relationships, and expanding range penetration.

Expanded Responsibilities

1. Key Account Management

  • Serve as primary contact for retail buyers.
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews.
  • Present range expansion proposals.
  • Maintain preferred supplier status.

2. Commercial Strategy

  • Drive bulk buy-ins.
  • Secure premium placement during campaigns.
  • Develop 12-month promotional calendars.

3. Revenue Expansion

  • Identify new SKU opportunities.
  • Secure listing approval for new products.
  • Monitor category trends and gaps.

4. Margin Protection

  • Pricing agreements.
  • Flag marketplace pricing risks.
  • Coordinate with B2C manager before major price drops.

5. Forecasting & Planning

  • Provide 3-month rolling forecast.
  • Align supply chain with retail event demand.
  • Track sell-through performance.

6. Performance Analysis

  • Conduct post-promotion reviews.
  • Analyse PO growth trends.
  • Monitor rebate structures and incentive targets.

POSITION 2 OF 2: B2C MARKETPLACE MANAGER (Platform Specialist)

Role Purpose

To maximise direct-to-consumer marketplace sales through performance optimisation, pricing strategy, advertising ROI, and brand presence.

Core Focus

Conversion optimisation, advertising efficiency, marketplace visibility.

Expanded Responsibilities

1. Storefront Ownership

  • Manage Amazon Seller Central, Takealot Marketplace, etc.
  • Maintain listing accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure all SKUs are optimised.

2. Performance Marketing

  • Manage PPC budgets.
  • Maintain target ACOS (Advertising Cost of Sales).
  • Adjust bids daily/weekly.
  • Optimise campaign structures.

3. Pricing Strategy

  • Implement dynamic pricing.
  • Respect retailer floor pricing.
  • Monitor buy-box control.

4. Conversion Optimisation

  • Oversee A+ content creation.
  • Improve product imagery.
  • Test titles and bullet points.
  • Monitor click-through rates.

5. Reputation & Reviews

  • Drive review generation campaigns.
  • Respond to customer reviews.
  • Monitor seller rating.
  • Reduce negative feedback ratio.

6. Inventory Management

  • Monitor days of supply.
  • Avoid stockouts.
  • Prevent overstock penalties.
  • Coordinate replenishment.

7. Competitive Intelligence
