Duties
- Manage and litigate family law cases including divorce, child custody, visitation, and support disputes with enthusiasm and precision
- Conduct thorough legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools to support case strategies
- Draft clear, persuasive legal documents such as pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and memoranda
- Negotiate settlements effectively to achieve favorable results for clients while maintaining professionalism and integrity
- Prepare for court appearances by organizing case files, evidence, and witness testimony
- Collaborate with clients to understand their goals and provide compassionate guidance throughout the legal process
- Stay current on relevant laws including estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, securities law, workers’ compensation law, personal injury law, tribal law & regulations, litigation procedures, and patent law to ensure comprehensive representation
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction
- Demonstrated experience or strong interest in family law practice with a proactive attitude towards learning new areas such as estate planning or environmental law
- Proficiency in legal research platforms including Westlaw and LexisNexis; ability to efficiently gather pertinent information
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce clear and compelling legal drafts and correspondence
- Strong negotiation skills coupled with a confident courtroom presence when advocating for clients
- Prior legal administrative experience is preferred to manage case documentation effectively
- Exceptional research skills to analyze statutes, regulations, and case law relevant to diverse practice areas
