Overview
The Accounting Specialist is responsible for managing the daily billing and invoicing of sales and services. This position is responsible for receiving and distributing telephone calls and will greet and assist our walk-in customers. The Accounting Specialist will accurately match and calculate customer data and information before invoices are sent. This position also performs accounting functions which may include billing, invoicing, accounts receivable and accounts payable duties. They will be responsible for accuracy of entered data as well as resolving any billing issues that may occur from time to time. The Accounting Specialist will also be responsible for the coding and keying of vendor invoices, collection of tax forms, entry of pricing data and assistance in ensuring accurate inventory levels. This position is responsible for supporting day to day needs with focus on customer service and timely and accurate delivery of accounting services.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounts payable and/or receivable, including billing, invoicing, deposits, and contacting past due customers.
- Assist walk in customers with general needs including processing payments and generating receipts.
- Assist in answering all incoming phones in a timely manner, transfer to the appropriate party, or take and relay messages as needed.
- Process payments received, apply to customer accounts and process through check scanning.
Skills
- Two year degree or previous accounting experience.
- Have strong attention to detail/accuracy and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Demonstrate effective oral communication and active listening skills and are comfortable interacting with a variety of individuals.
- Good problem-solving abilities.
- Good computer skills, specifically MS Suite and financial software
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 – $23.00 per hour
