Workshop Supervisor (Mechanical – Diesel Trucks, Trailers and Bakkies) Jobs in Midrand at K and T Consulting (Pty) Ltd

Duties

  • Ensure that all duties allocated are carried out and completed.
  • All tasks to be completed as per operating procedures. This is to include routine and special tasks.
  • Co- ordination, organisation, administration and manage of staff and shifts.
  • Generate willingness from staff members to go the extra mile.
  • Creating a calm and good working environment.
  • Ensure the workshop is clean and maintained at all times.
  • Complete all job cards timeously.
  • Job cards to be created and briefed with the workshop staff the day before.
  • Job cards to be communicated on the workshop WhatsApp group.
  • Job card progress reports to be updated and communicated daily.
  • Ensure that morning meetings are done with both management and your staff individually.
  • Ensure monthly reports are done and communicated.
  • Ensure all the workshop staff are kept up to date with targets, performance and day to day operations.
  • To support, motivate, inspire and lead the workshop team.
  • Work, build and develop a team that maintains high performing work culture throughout the workshop.
  • Effective administration of time- keeping and absence.
  • To conduct timely and effective investigations in line with the company code of conduct and disciplinary procedures.
  • Work in conjunction with SHEQ to train and attain high standards and a safe working environment.
  • Ensure all vehicles PMI’s are completed every month.
  • Manage workshop costings.
  • Implementing and controlling costs, performance and productivity.
  • Ensure monthly stocktakes are done, timelessly on the last day of the month. If not done, new stock for the new month will not be bought/ purchased.
  • Ensure workshop is opened and closed timelessly.
  • Allocate duties to workshop staff.
  • Ensure services are done on time as scheduled and ensure vehicles are maintained.
  • Be familiar with operational equipment and keep it clean and maintained.
  • Report all/ any defects of equipment to your Head of Department.
  • Ensure all breakdowns are communicated and timelessly updated on workshop WhatsApp group.
  • Be able to conduct and manage fault finding process.
  • Develop new systems and plans for the betterment of the workshop and office.
  • Purchase stock in accordance with purchasing systems, this includes creating proper purchase orders.
  • Follow up on all duties allocated to workshop staff
  • Update service schedule and expense sheet daily.
  • Supervise all tanker cleaning that’s done at the depot.
  • Ensure all tanker cleaning certificates are issued.
  • Ensure all vehicles are handed over to workshop every shift change.
  • Ensure all vehicles are inspected every shift change.
  • Ensure all supplier invoices are handed over to accounts timelessly.
  • Build a good relationship with current suppliers and source new suppliers, that’s cost effective.
  • Maintain and update order number system.
  • Ensure all sustainable development projects are cared for and maintained.
  • Implement Recycling station and ensure proper control and maintenance of such.
  • Maintain the offices and yard ensuring all maintenance for such is maintained.
  • Ensure safety of workshop and equipment.
  • Maintain and manage workshop Saturday and Sunday schedules.
  • Ensure there is adequate staff at all times.

Minimum Requirements

  • 3 years’ previous experience working as a Workshop/Service Manager/ Parts Manager.
  • Must have excellent knowledge / track record of managing and achieving workshop hours.
  • Must be client centric.
  • Must have strong administrative abilities and attention to detail.
  • Must have good communication and people skills.
  • Must understand the importance of the workshop and policies.
  • Positive contribution to the team.
  • General vehicle and trailer experience.
  • High safety standards.
  • Computer literate.
  • Control staff and enforce discipline.
  • Must be able to deliver against objective and targets.
  • N3/Qualified Diesel Mechanic for 3 years will be advantageous.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: R10 000,00 per month
