About the Role
We are looking for a highly capable Workshop Manager to lead daily operations in a busy automotive workshop. This role is ideal for someone with strong project management skills, the ability to perform under pressure, and the flexibility to adapt in a fast-moving environment.
You will be responsible for ensuring efficient workflow, high-quality workmanship, excellent customer experience, and consistent profitability.
This position offers a competitive basic salary plus a commission structure that is more competitive than the market, rewarding performance and results.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate daily workshop operations to ensure smooth workflow and on-time job completion
- Plan, prioritise, and allocate work effectively across technicians and bays
- Oversee job cards, parts ordering, turnaround times, and quality control
- Handle customer communication professionally, including updates, approvals, and issue resolution
- Monitor KPIs such as productivity, efficiency, comeback rates, and profitability
- Work closely with ownership/management to implement systems, improvements, and operational projects
- Maintain high standards of safety, cleanliness, and compliance
- Lead by example in a high-pressure environment and resolve problems quickly and calmly
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in automotive workshop management or a senior automotive supervisory role
- High level knowledge on vehicle repair issues, and diagnostic capability.
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- High level of adaptability and problem-solving ability
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Strong attention to detail and operational discipline
- Computer literacy (job card systems, invoicing, workshop software advantageous)
