Windows System Engineer Jobs in Johannesburg Metropolitan Area at Office Beacon ASPL
Title: Windows System Engineer
Company: Office Beacon ASPL
Location: Johannesburg Metropolitan Area
Role: Senior Windows Server & Active Directory Engineer
If you’re a seasoned Windows Server engineer with real experience in Windows Server 2016 / 2019 / 2022 and how they behave during patching.
You understand Active Directory in a multi-DC environment — replication, DNS, domain controller roles — and how to patch domain controllers safely.
What Makes This a Match
We’re a small technical team supporting large corporate environments.
You enjoy working in Active Directory and Windows Server patching.
You like the flexibility of a small team, but you’re disciplined about documentation for enterprise clients.
Scope
You’ll take ownership of the health and patch compliance of roughly 100 production servers across the U.S.
The environment is generally stable. Most systems patch cleanly. Occasionally, a server needs deeper troubleshooting — and that’s where your experience comes in.

Windows Patching & Troubleshooting

– Communicate clearly with our team and local admins during patch cycles.
Lifecycle & Upgrades
– Participate in onboarding and server transition work.

– Validate AD, DNS, DFSR, and patch status after upgrades.
– Help retire legacy Windows Server systems cleanly.
Professional Judgment
– Troubleshoot based on evidence, not guesses.
– Be disciplined about reboots in production.
– Know when to escalate to a different specialist.
Required Experience
– Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server 2016–2022; experience with Windows Server 2025 is welcome.
– Proven experience managing multi-DC Active Directory environments.
– Demonstrated ability to diagnose and safely resolve Windows patching failures.
– Ability to use PowerShell for AD auditing and patch diagnostics, and understand what the output is telling you.
