As a Wheelchair Driver, you’ll transport patients—both walking and in wheelchairs—to and from hospitals, dialysis centers, and other medical appointments in a non-emergency setting.
Applicants for this position must bring a current Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) to their interview. The MVR must have been issued within the last 30 days.

Duties Include:
- Provide Great Customer Service: Be kind, caring, and supportive to our clients.
- Door-to-Door Assistance: Help clients safely get from their homes to appointments and back.
- Drive Safely: Stay calm and focused in all weather and traffic conditions.
- Be On Time: Arrive promptly for all pick-ups and drop-offs.
- Stay in Touch: Keep Dispatch updated about drop-offs, delays, and any issues.
- Enjoy Variety: Each day is different—meet new people and explore new places!
Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s License with no at fault accidents in the last 3 years (Required)
- CPR & First Aid (Will be trained on site by Metro One Certified Trainer)
- 1 Year Driver Experience (Preferred)
- Zero at fault incidents in the last 3 years.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Customer Service Experience: Must have customer facing experience with a good track record of assisting customers
- Driving Experience: 1 year of van driving preferred, clean driving record with no more than 4 points in the last 3 years, valid South Carolina driver’s license
- Great Attitude: Empathy, compassion, customer service, willingness to adapt to change
- Confidentiality: Must adhere to all federal, state and agency rules regarding HIPAA
Education:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
License/Certifications:
- Driver License
- First Aid & CPR
Lifting & Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and maneuver up to 50 pounds (equipment only)
- Ability to operate wheelchair lifts and ramps (training provided)
- Ability to secure wheelchairs and mobility equipment in wheelchair-equipped vehicles, in accordance with company policy
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, and repeatedly enter and exit vehicles throughout the shift
- Drivers are not required or permitted to lift or transfer passengers. Passenger transfers requiring lifting must be performed by a caregiver or appropriate medical personnel
