Function:
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the safe, efficient and compliant day-to-day operation of the Container Freight Station (CFS), ensuring that all cargo handling, warehousing, inventory control, container operations and dispatch activities are executed in accordance with company procedures, customer requirements and regulatory standards.
The role is responsible for supervising warehouse personnel, coordinating operational activities, ensuring accurate cargo tracking and maintaining high standards of safety, productivity and customer service.
Main Responsibilities
● Supervise all warehouse activities including cargo receiving, unloading, stacking, storage, inventory control, stuffing, destuffing and dispatch.
● Ensure optimal utilization of warehouse space and storage locations.
● Monitor cargo movements and ensure proper cargo segregation and identification.
● Ensure proper handling of general cargo, mining cargo, project cargo, containers and bulk bagged products.
● Verify cargo quantities, packaging condition and cargo integrity upon receipt and dispatch.
● Coordinate loading and unloading activities with transporters, customers and operational teams.
● Ensure containers are correctly positioned, stuffed, sealed and dispatched according to customer requirements.
● Monitor warehouse housekeeping standards and maintain a clean and organized facility.
● Ensure compliance with customer SOPs, handling instructions and quality requirements.
● Coordinate daily warehouse and yard activities to maximize efficiency and productivity.
● Promote and enforce a safety-first culture across all warehouse operations.
● Ensure compliance with company HSE policies and customer safety requirements.
● Conduct routine warehouse safety inspections.
● Report and investigate incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions.
● Ensure proper use of PPE by all personnel.
● Monitor warehouse security controls and access procedures.
● Ensure compliance with Security SOPs and customer security requirements.
● Support implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
● Ensure compliance with local regulations and company standards.
