Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service that exceeds guest expectations.
- Welcome and seat guests in a professional and courteous manner.
- Present menus, explain specials, and make knowledgeable food and wine recommendations.
- Accurately take food and beverage orders using the restaurant’s POS system.
- Serve food and beverages according to fine dining service standards.
- Ensure tables are impeccably set before service and maintained throughout the dining experience.
- Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests.
- Handle guest concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
- Process bills and payments accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in accordance with company policies.
- Work closely with kitchen and bar teams to ensure seamless service.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and food safety regulations.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience as a waitron in a fine dining or upscale restaurant.
- Excellent knowledge of food, wine, cocktails, and beverage service.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional appearance and excellent grooming standards.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Reliable transport to and from work.
