Role Summary:
The Video Journalist will be responsible for producing compelling, high-quality video content across digital and broadcast platforms. This role combines reporting, shooting, editing, and storytelling to deliver impactful news and feature videos. The Video Journalist will cover breaking news, conduct interviews, and create engaging multimedia packages that meet the organization’s editorial standards and connect with diverse audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pitch, research, and develop original video story ideas.
- Shoot, script, and edit news and feature videos for multiple platforms.
- Cover breaking news stories and produce fast-turnaround video reports.
- Conduct on-camera and off-camera interviews with newsmakers and experts.
- Collaborate with reporters, editors, and producers to create multimedia packages.
- Ensure all video content adheres to editorial guidelines for accuracy, fairness, and quality.
- Operate video cameras, lighting, and audio equipment with technical proficiency.
- Stay current with digital video trends and audience engagement strategies.
Role Requirements:
- Strong storytelling and visual journalism skills.
- Proficiency in video shooting, editing, and production (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent).
- High Knowledge of lighting, audio, and camera operation.
- Editorial judgment and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in fast-paced environments.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with strict deadline adherence.
- 3+ years of experience in video journalism, broadcast reporting, or multimedia production.
- Proven experience in shooting, editing, and producing professional video content.
- Demonstrated ability to cover breaking news and deliver fast-turnaround stories.
- Familiarity with digital publishing tools and social media platforms for video distribution.
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Media, Communications, or a related field.
