Unified Communications Engineer – Microsoft Teams Voice/Cisco Collaboration Jobs in Johannesburg at Luphindi Business Solutions (Pty) Ltd
Programme context. Luphindi Business Solutions is recruiting suitably qualified ICT professionals for a confidential, large-scale enterprise infrastructure and SD-WAN programme for their Client. The programme will be delivered over five years, with main delivery hubs in Johannesburg and Durban and implementation work across South Africa. The target technology environment includes Cisco and Fortinet networking and secure SD-WAN solutions. Regular national travel is an essential requirement for deployment-related roles.
Role purpose
Design, integrate, test and support enterprise voice and collaboration services affected by the SD-WAN and network transformation.
Key responsibilities
· Assess voice and collaboration dependencies across branches, data centres and remote users.
· Configure or support SIP, session border controllers, dial plans, call routing and quality controls.
· Integrate Microsoft Teams Voice and/or Cisco Collaboration services with the target network.
· Define QoS and performance requirements for voice and video traffic.
· Support migration, testing, cutover, failover and issue resolution.
· Coordinate with carriers, network engineers, security teams and service providers.
· Maintain voice architecture, configuration, numbering and test documentation.
· Support operational handover and knowledge transfer.
Minimum requirements
Qualification: Relevant diploma in Information Technology, Telecommunications or Network Engineering.
Mandatory certifications: Current Microsoft Teams Voice and/or Cisco Collaboration certification is mandatory.
Experience: At least five years’ unified communications, voice or collaboration engineering experience.
Core technical competencies: Microsoft Teams Voice; Cisco Collaboration; SIP; SBC; dial plans; call routing; QoS; voice testing; carrier integration; unified communications troubleshooting.

· Clear written and verbal communication, with a high standard of technical and project documentation.

· Ability to work under deployment pressure while maintaining quality, safety and governance standards.
Typical deliverables
· Accurate status reports and implementation records relevant to the role.
· Complete, quality-controlled technical or project documentation.
· Evidence of testing, acceptance, issue resolution and handover where applicable.
· Knowledge-transfer material and participation in operational or client handover.
· Role-specific deliverables completed in accordance with approved standards and timelines.
Minimum candidate submission requirements
· A detailed and current CV showing complete project history, dates, responsibilities, project scale and technologies used.
· Copies of all relevant academic qualifications and professional certifications.
· Contact details for at least two contactable references from similar enterprise ICT projects.
· Current availability and notice period, with confirmation of ability to commence on or around 1 November 2026.
· Current and expected remuneration, stated as gross monthly CTC.
· Confirmation of willingness to travel nationally for recurring assignments.
· Current city of residence and confirmation of preferred base: Johannesburg or Durban.
· Confirmation that the candidate is willing to accept a fixed-term contract and undergo qualification, certification, reference and background verification.

· Has the candidate implemented or migrated enterprise voice services using Teams Voice, Cisco Collaboration, SIP and SBC technologies?
